A man armed with a claw hammer has been seen making threats in pubs in Seaford this afternoon Friday (December 4).

Police were made aware that a man was visiting pubs and off-licences in Seaford while making threats and carrying a claw hammer at around 3pm this afternoon.

Officers, supported by a police helicopter and taser units, began a search of the town to try to locate the man.

Police believe the man may be aggrieved at being banned from local licensed premises under the town’s Pubwatch scheme.

He is described as white, in his 30s, 6ft 2ins tall, of stocky build, heavily tattooed and with shaved blond hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a yellow pattern and grey jogging bottoms.

Sergeant Jon Attfield said, “We understand he is armed with a claw hammer and has been making threats and using abusive language, but no one has been hurt.

“Anyone seeing the man is asked not to approach him but to phone 999 and ask for police. They should quote serial 862 of 04/12.”
