Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on Golden Jubilee Way in Eastbourne yesterday (Monday October 28).

The collision happened at 2.20pm between a blue Vauxhall Astra and a Scania HGV, both heading northbound.

The driver of the Astra reported the lorry cutting from lane two into lane one and the Astra has left the road to avoid it and crashed into a wooden fence and hedgerow.

The driver was uninjured but the lorry left the scene.

PC Christine Locke from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said, “It is believed this may have been a foreign registered lorry.

“If anyone saw what happened they are asked to contact police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1394 of 28/10.”
