Long delays in Hampden Park due to level crossing failure

There are currently long delays in Hampden Park this afternoon (Tuesday) after a fault with the level crossing gates at the railway station.

Motorists have contacted the Herald and say they believe the gates are jammed and have been down for more than 40 minutes.

We are awaiting information from Network Rail as to when the situation will be resolved but in the meantime drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
