Ratton’s after school Baking Club enjoyed a visit from Heath & Sons Traditional Family Butchers in Green Street, Old Town .
The students had a practical hands-on demonstration of how sausages are made, all the way through from mincing the 100 per cent local free range pork, to the linking of the sausages.
The students were very excited to try out all the different elements and were not scared of getting their hands stuck in to mix the meat and spices together to make the Cumberland and Lincolnshire sausages.
Together with Mr Kingham who helped to organise the demonstration, Mr Heath showed the students how to make the sausages using a traditional hand wound sausage machine, but had also brought his professional machine in from the shop.
Baking Club is attended by students in Years 7, 8, and 9.
