Pupils from Bede’s Prep School completed the Eastbourne Lions Swimathon and raised £937.23 for Eastbourne Lifeboats
Thirteen pupils from Bede’s School gave up their spare time to take part in the fundraiser. The children, aged between eight and 13, swam solidly for 20 minutes cheered on by parents, teachers and friends. Each of the children clocked up between 28 and 36 lengths and collectively they swam 392 lengths or a distance of almost 10,000 metres.
This pupils selected Eastbourne RNLI to benefit. The cheque was presented by Hannah Jebb and mother Michelle to Lifeboat Coxswain Mark Sawyer. Mr Sawyer thanked all the pupils for their efforts and reminded the youngsters to respect the water and stay safe.
