LITTLE Jemima Soars is the lucky winner of the Herald’s Pantomime Cake Competition.

Six-year-old Jemima arrived at the Devonshire Park Theatre on Thursday evening (December 16) to meet some of the Cinderella cast and see her winning design made into a cake,

The youngster met the Fairy Godmother (Gillian Wright from EastEnders) and Dandini (Clare Buckfield).

She won the competition after designing a cake which perfectly captured the last 10 years of in-house produced pantomime at Eastbourne Theatres.

Jemima’s winning design featured many of the shows that have been performed in the theatre over the last decade, including: Sleeping Beauty, Aladdin, Jack and The Beanstalk and of course this year’s pantomime, Cinderella.

“The competition generated lots of entries, with Jemima’s entry standing out thanks to its colourful and fun design that featured all of the different pantomimes and characters that have appeared on the Devonshire Park stage over the years,” said a theatres spokesperson.

After having her picture taken with the stars and the colourful cake Jemima went to watch the pantomime with her family.

Cinderella is on at the Devonshire Park Theatre until January 16. Tickets cost £10.50-£16.50, call 412000.
