A retired teacher who was jailed in 2013 for a series of historic sexual crimes has been found guilty of six further offences.

Christopher Robin Jarvis was sentenced to eight years in prison on December 16, 2013 after pleading guilty to 14 offences of indecent assault and gross indecency while teaching at the old St Peters Preparatory School in Seaford.

On Monday (December 7), Mr Jarvis, who was known to many as Robin, appeared at Lewes Crown Court to be sentenced for an additional six charges relating to offences at the same school.

The 72-year-old was sentenced to four years imprisonment for two of the charges, to be served concurrent to his existing sentence, and 21 months for the remaining four counts, also to be served simultaneously. This means he will not serve any extra time on top of his original eight-year sentence.

The offences were all committed over a period of time between 1964 and 1976 when Mr Jarvis was a teacher at the school in Seaford, with his victims all pupils at the school.

Following the closure of St Peters in 1982, Jarvis went on to teach at Bede’s School in Eastbourne, although there is no evidence to suggest any further assaults during this time.

Jarvis was first arrested on November, 5 2012 after one of the victims contacted Sussex Police for the first time in late October 2012. That resulted in further victims coming forward and Jarvis was charged when he answered his police bail on June 3, 2013.
