Jailed for ASBO breach

A 52-YEAR-OLD woman has been jailed from breaching her Anti Social Behaviour Order.

Lita Marie Dawson, who has no fixed address but spends time in Seaford and Eastbourne, will spend 84 days in prison after breaching her order.

She pleaded guilty to the offence on June 30 at Eastbourne Magistrates on July 2.

Dawson was bailed until July 17 but while on bail she again breached her ASBO on July 8 by entering the Co-op store on Broad Street, Seaford, from which she is banned.

The 52-year-old stole two bottles of wine and swore at the members of staff. Police quickly attended and arrested her nearby.

Dawson appeared at Brighton Magistrates on July 9 and pleaded guilty for breach of her ASBO and theft.

She received a total of 84 days in custody, 42 days for each breach.

PC Dave Newman, Lewes District ASBO officer, said, “This was excellent work from the reponse officers who located Dawson only 30 minutes after the report came in.

“Due to the Co-op staffs’ swift work in identifying her, she will now be away from the area over the summer period.”
