Investigators leave scene of Eastbourne school fire

Fire investigators have left the scene of a serious fire at Shinewater Primary School in Eastbourne earlier today (October 12).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue confirmed the blaze is being treated as suspicious and say investigators have been working with Sussex Police.

After exhaustive checks, the building was declared as completely extinguished earlier this afternoon.

At its height more than 60 firefighters from Eastbourne, Pevensey, Hailsham, Herstmonceux, Bexhill, Seaford, Hastings, Battle, Uckfield and Heathfield were at the scene.

The investigation into the fire continues.
