Investigation after teenager assaulted in Hailsham

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault on a teenager in Hailsham.

Sussex Police launched the appeal today (November 14), after an assault and attempted robbery on a 16-year-old boy in Vicarage Road on Tuesday October 28.

The victim was on his bike outside the Waitrose store between 2.15pm and 2.45pm when he was approached by two boys, one of whom was known to him. The boy that he didn’t know punched him and tried to take his bike.

The victim did need hospital treatment.

A 16-year-old boy from Eastbourne, was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. He was questioned and released on bail until Thursday December 11.
