It seems even blizzards and icy pavements won’t put Seafordians off the Soup Spud and Pud Lunch, as 50 people turned up for the fundraising event.

Seaford in Bloom runs the lunch every to raise money for its floral displays in the town.

The event took place on March 12 at St Leonard’s Church in Seaford.

Jim Murray, from Seaford in Bloom, said, “Despite the atrocious weather, the worst that we’ve ever experienced for this event, 50 Seafordians managed to struggle through the ice and snow to enjoy the home made soups, potato fillings and delicious desserts.”

A total of £400 was raised towards floral displays in Seaford by the event, with the help of a well supported raffle.

Events coming up this year include a Golf Day for Seaford in Bloom at Blatchington Golf Course on May 15, the judging of the Seaford in Bloom Floral Competition on July 9 and Seaford in Bloom Open Gardens Day on July 14.
