TRIBUTES are continuing to pour in for Willingdon teenager Megan Brooks who died suddenly last week.

More than 800 people have joined a Facebook page set up in memory of Megan, who would have been 18 yesterday (Thursday).

The popular teenager died after collapsing at Eastbourne Rugby Club in Park Avenue earlier this month and the cause of her death is not yet known.

Her funeral will be at St Wilfrid’s Church in Willingdon on Tuesday, May 17, at 11am, and her parents Jane and Fraser are asking for everyone to wear something pink.

Megan, a former pupil at Willingdon primary and secondary schools and Sussex Downs College, was a member of Eastbourne Rugby Club where her father Fraser is the chairman.

The club said Megan would be ‘very much missed by the whole membership’ and there are plans to paint the goals on the pitch as part of a memorial to her.

Hundreds of people have left messages on the social networking site describing Megan as ‘beautiful, wonderful and amazing’ and yesterday there were lots of birthday wishes posted.

Her parents Jane and Fraser said their daughter was beautiful and special.

The couple also want to pass on their thanks to those who have helped them through the last two weeks.

They include Megan’s aunts, uncles and grandparents, Megan’s little sister Adella and brother Oliver as well as Sussex Police and Eastbourne DGH.

There will be family flowers only at the funeral but anyone who wishes to make a donation towards a memorial for Megan at the rugby club is asked to contact Haines Funeral Director in Polegate on 489127.
