‘Hit and run’ in Eastbourne town centre

A truck left the road and collided with a bus shelter in Eastbourne in the early hours of Friday morning (December 14) – said Eastbourne Police.

Police were called to the scene in Cavendish Avenue, at 12.40am, and discovered the black Mitsubishi Warrior embedded in the shelter.

Officers said the driver left the vehicle and made off down Firle Road.

Enquiries are now taking place to locate the owner of the vehicle and establish the identity of the driver.
