CELEBRATION OF BEES: The bees have arrived at Lime Cross Nursery and the honey is coming soon. Bee Weekend at the Nursery is over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, May 14 and 15. Meet the Beekeeper and the bees. There will be bee produce, bee gifts and bee hives for sale. Discover how to make honey and learn about bee friendly plants and why bees are so important.

CHURCH SERVICES: St Mary Magdalene, Wartling: Sunday 9.45 Holy Communion (CW). All Saints, Herstmonceux: Sunday 8am Holy Communion (BCP), 6pm Evensong (BCP).

PLANT SALE: All Saints Church annual Plant Sale tomorrow, Saturday, 10am in the village hall. Entrance £1 to include refreshments. They have already been promised a variety of plants and would be grateful for any surplus ones you may have, clearly labelled please to avoid detective work. Gardening books and small garden sundries are also welcome and can be brought to the village hall 8.30am to 9am on the day prior to the doors opening at 10am. There will be children’ competitions in the small hall and a raffle, so come and enjoy the morning. Happy gardening and a colourful summer to everyone.

EVENING WALK: On Tuesday at 6.30pm meet at St Barnabas Church, Cross in Hand for a circular walk of approximately three miles with Sue 832016 and Trudy 845597. Give the walk leaders a ring if you would like to go along.

WINDMILL OPENING: The Windmill at Windmill Hill is now fully restored and able to grind flour using the power of the wind for the first time in 120 years. This could not have been achieved without the help of our many supporters and volunteers and, to say thank you, we are holding a celebratory event and official opening on Saturday May 14. The event will run from noon until 3pm with the opening ceremony, to be conducted by James Braxton, taking place at 12.30pm. Following the ceremony there will be guided tours of the windmill. Drinks and light refreshments will be available. We are asking people to arrive by 12.15pm for the opening ceremony at 12.30pm.
