Make a wish at this year’s Arndale Centre Christmas display and your spare coins will help brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
Every year, the Arndale chooses a charity to benefit from any coins donated to the magical festive display next to Shades. This year, the money raised will go to Starlight, a small charity that has a massive impact on the lives of seriously and terminally ill youngsters.
It is the only children’s charity delivering services into every children’s ward in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK. This year it will help 500,000 children and their families to forget about being sick or stuck in hospital and have some fun.
The display, next to Shades restaurant, features a snow filled scene with moving polar bears plus the wishing well where every year hundreds of youngsters give their spare pennies and make a Christmas wish.
Eastbourne Arndale Centre manager Bill Plumridge said, “It seems really fitting at a time like Christmas that we think of children who will be in hospital and not at home for the celebrations. I’d like to thank all our customers who visit the display every year and are so kind with their donations.”
