Eastbourne Theatres manager, Gavin Davis, has thrown down the gauntlet to hearing aid users to visit the Devonshire Park Theatre for free later this month to hear just how good the hearing loop system is.

Eastbourne Stagers will be performing excerpts from their current show “The Wizard of Oz”at a special afternoon event organised by the charity Hearing Link called “Hear This”.

The non-ticket event on Sunday, September 29 at 5.30pm, will also feature presentations by experts on the hearing loops to help everyone gain a greater understanding of how they work.

Among those present will be Pauline Jenkins, principal audiologist based in Eastbourne who retired earlier this year after 45 years service, but who is still practising.

She will be able to offer help and advice to hearing aid users to correctly activate their loop settings.

“Hear This” will last about 90 minutes with a mixture of entertainment and chat. It is a free event with doors opening at 5pm.
