THE NHS Trust which runs the Eastbourne DGH has appointed a new chairman.
Stuart Welling, from Bexhill, has served on a number of health boards and been chief executive of a Brighton NHS Trust between 1991 and 2004.
He will take up his role as chairman of East Sussex Hospitals Trust in July.
“I am totally committed to ensuring all services we provide meet the needs of local people, are of the highest quality and centred on patient safety,” said Mr Welling.
Trust chief executive Darren Grayson said, “He has a vast wealth of experience and knowledge of the NHS which will prove extremely useful as we move forward in what will be a period of significant change for the NHS.” Current chairman Irene Dibben will step down at the end of March.
