Head on crash will mean long delays on road

Four people were left trapped in three separate cars after a major crash in Firle this afternoon.

Seven ambulances were called to the collision near Middle Farm on Lewes Road at around 3.40pm today (Wednesday) – with eight people needing treatment.

An 82-yr-old woman travelling in the back seat of one of the vehicles involved in the head-on collision was treated for chest pain and casualties were taken to Royal Sussex Hospital.

Sussex Police have advised drivers to avoid the area for the next few hours due to expected disruption and long delays.
