FATHER Christmas leant a helping hand at Drusillas as the keepers dealt with staff shortages due to the recent icy conditions.
In between meeting visitors and giving out presents at the zoo, Santa also found time to make a few special deliveries to the zoo’s four-legged residents.
Perfectly prepared in his traditional wellies, Father Christmas began his duties by mucking out farm animals. His experience in looking after reindeer proved to be invaluable, as he continued to assist the keepers with the lunchtime feeds.
Father Christmas next made an unscheduled landing to the ring-tailed lemurs, providing them with a festive feast of their favourite fruits. It was then onward to the meerkats for a scattering of magical meal-worms, before returning home to his Christmas Cottage at Drusillas.
