Residents of Ersham House in Hailsham enjoyed a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party as part of National Nutrition and Hydration Week with the theme of ‘Food can be Fun’. Staff worked with many of the residents to make hats that reflected the party theme and the home-made food was straight out of Wonderland. The room decorations included a sleeping dormouse in a teapot, an inviting bottle with a ‘Drink Me’ label and a pink flamingo in case a game of croquet was required. To help make the theme complete Sue Jones (Operations Manager) was dressed as the White Rabbit, Sharon Sugars (Registered Manager) was the Queen of Hearts and Nat Bridger (Deputy Manager) was the Mad Hatter.
The competition for the best hat was won by Peter Friedman, a resident of the nursing home in Ersham Road, with a fetching blue and white checked number which was made for him by staff member Rachel Bolt.
