Eight-year-old local girl Daisy Barrett-Dunn has chopped off her waist-length hair in aid of a worthy cause.
She has donated her blonde locks to The Little Princess Trust, which provides free real hair wigs to children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or similar illnesses. Daisy has sent 14 inches as a contribution towards a wig.
She had heard about the charity from a friend and immediately wanted “to help these poorly people feel better about themselves.”
She added, “I’m really lucky my hair can always grow back.”
Daisy waited patiently until after she was a flower girl at her cousin’s wedding before going for the chop one afternoon after school.
She said special thanks must go to Andy and Jane at The Salon @9. in Green Street, Eastbourne, who kindly donated the haircut.
Daisy is a Year 3 pupil at Ocklynge School and is also an active member of the 1st Willingdon Cubs group and The Kingfisher Scout Band. She has raised close to £300 for the charity thanks to generous donations via her JustGiving page.
