Police are appealing for witnesses after a seven-year-old boy was in collision with a car in Orion Close, Hailsham, last night (Wednesday).

The boy from Hailsham was on a scooter when he collided with a Toyota Yaris at 7.30pm. The air ambulance landed as he had suffered a fractured leg but he was taken to the Conquest Hospital at St Leonards by road ambulance.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man also from Hailsham, was uninjured.

PC Mark Fowler said, “We are appealing for witnesses who saw the boy moments before the collision or anyone who saw the actual collision to contact police.”
