FREE TRAINING DAY: Today the Conservation Volunteers are recruiting walk leaders for their existing healthy walk in Hailsham. The next health walk leader training day in the area is on Friday 4 March, 9.30am - 4.00pm in Eastbourne. No previous experience is required, just a friendly nature and the availability to help lead the Hailsham healthy walk on a regular basis. The walk takes place every Thursday morning. SPRING TIME BARN DANCE: Tomorrow evening, hosted by Hailsham FM and Environment Hailsham with the Spinning Jenny band at Grovelands School Hall, Hailsham, BN27 3UW. Starts at 7pm – 11.30pm. AUDIO VISUAL COLOUR SHOW: This evening and tomorrow, Saturday, the Hailsham Photographic Society’s annual show comes to the Hailsham Civic Community Hall, Vicarage Lane, 7.30pm. Tickets £6 on T: 01435 863110. Booking advisable.

MOTHERING SUNDAY: The Boship Lions Farm Hotel on the Boship roundabout A22 turnoff is serving a special Mothers’ Day Carvery or Afternoon tea from 12 noon to 5.30pm this Sunday Book ahead to avoid disappointment on 01323 844826.

TIME TOGETHER: Go along on Monday at 2.15pm to Hailsham Gospel Mission, Station Rd, in church hall through side gate for relaxing fun and games.

TOWN COUNCIL: The Communities Committee meets this Monday at 6pm in the Fleur de Lys meeting room/Council Chamber, Inglenook, Market Sq. If you are interested in getting involved in events around the town organised by the Town Council, go along. Press & public welcome.

There is also a Planning & Development Committee on Tuesday at 7pm, Fleur de Lys meeting room/Council Chamber, Inglenook, Market Sq. Press & public welcome.

ORGAN CLUB: This is on Wednesday at 7.30pm at the Charles Hunt Centre, Vicarage Field car park. Janet Dowsett will perform a wide range of music superbly played on the Yamaha organ. All welcome.

FARMERS MARKET: This is on Saturday 12 March from 9am to 12.30pm at the Cattle Market site, Market Street, BN27 2AG. Fresh, local, traceable produce. Free onsite parking & Market Café. Some traders outside, visit the others in the pens this month just to the left as you come on site. Pick up meats, game, smoked or in pies, honey, eggs, cheese, fudge, seasonal fruit and veg, plants and planters, a wide range of beautiful and unusual greetings cards and other crafts for that unusual gift.

BOOT SALE: Hailsham Lions Club will have a pitch and be raising funds by running the boot sale on Saturday 12 March on the Cattle Market site, set up from 7.30am. Pitch £5. CUCKMERE BUSES: Ever thought of becoming a Cuckmere bus driver. On Saturday 12 March you can give it a go if you come along to the Cattle Market site, Market Street between 9am and 12.30 Richard will be there with the bus so you can take the bus for a spin around the site and see if becoming a volunteer Cuckmere Bus driver is for you. Bring along your ordinary D1 car driving license to the stand and get any questions you have answered.

UNDERSTANDING DEMENTIA: Bookings now being take for a most interesting talk at Bowes House Care Home, Battle Road from 2.30 – 4.30pm on Wednesday 16 March with dementia specialist Sally Hemmings who will be covering a number of topics to help you understand what it might be like to live with dementia, as well as offering some practical advice; Understand what dementia is and how memories are lost, learn about language changes and overcome communication barriers, discover positive approaches to living with dementia.
