AmicusHorizon has been awarded more than £20.4million of grant funding which will go towards building 689 affordable homes including a number in Eastbourne.

The money will help the housing provider create a further 330 homes in London and 359 homes in Kent and Sussex between 2015 and 2018.

Combining this new allocation with its current development programme, the housing association is expecting to complete more than 1,200 much needed homes by March 2018.

The funding has come from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and the Greater London Authority (GLA) and experts say it is a massive vote of confidence in the growing organisation.

Paul Hackett at AmicusHorizon, said, “We’re delighted the GLA and HCA have allocated AmicusHorizon £20.4 million. We welcome the opportunity to work with the HCA, GLA and local authority partners to build on the success of our current programme. And we look forward to working with our partners to deliver schemes to meet local housing needs. AmicusHorizon has a fantastic track record in delivering award winning customer driven services. The organisation aims to provide more than just bricks and mortar – it strives to build homes and communities that are great places to live.”
