THE ROTARY Club of Beachy Head organised a charity Go-Karting Event at Filching Manor in May and raised more than £1,000.

After the event a cheque for £810 was presented to Sue O’Hara from the Tuesday O’Hara Fund set up in memory of her daughter Tuesday, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in June 2003 and died in 2007 after a four year battle with the disease.

The fund’s aim is to raise funds which enable cancer sufferers under financial hardship and their families and friends in any way they can.

The ultimate aim is to raise enough money to facilitate the Pevensey Ward’s proposed adolescent unit located in Eastbourne District General Hospital with equipment that will make hospital stays for young people aged between 18 and 30 as comfortable and homely as possible.
