Get ready for Extreme 2013!


Eastbourne’s popular extreme sports festival returns to the eastern seafront this weekend, 13 and 14 July, with a great line up of exhibitors and attractions.

Recognised as one of the biggest FREE extreme sports festivals on the South coast, Eastbourne Extreme will kick off the summer with an adventure filled weekend, combining an exciting mix of air, land and water based outdoor pursuits. This year’s line up includes exhibitors such as Fuki, accompanied by JetLev, the M.A.D bike display team and the Urban Shadows parkour and free running team, plus much more!

New to Extreme this year is Fuki, a UK based company allowing people to find, explore and experience activities from across the globe. Fuki will be bringing JetLev, who offer the world’s newest and most exhilarating water sport! The jetpacks on water allow the rider to fly across the sea, and are not to be missed this year, with demonstrations at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm on both days! As if JetLev weren’t extreme enough, Fuki will also be displaying a powerboat, offering speedy trips out over the weekend! Visitors are invited to the Fuki stand to enquire about this and the array of experiences on offer.

Also new for 2013 is TheAirBag, who offer visitors a chance to leap off a custom made platform and experience an adrenaline pumping freefall before landing safely onto the airbag below! ‘TheAirBag’ will be joining the event on Sunday 14th July, giving everyone the chance to release their inner dare devil! Whether visitors make the jump or watch from the ground it all makes for great fun!

The M.A.D bike display team, who boast some of Europe’s finest rider’s will be exhibiting throughout the weekend, ready to wow crowds with an array of mind blowing mountain bike stunts. Having performed on a professional level at world class events, the M.A.D team are at the forefront of their industry and are sure to provide some extreme entertainment.

The Urban Shadows team will be returning for their fifth year at Eastbourne Extreme to wow the crowd with a mix of parkour and free running, which is a physical discipline that focuses on efficient movement around various obstacles. Visitors can see the team perform their skills on their specially made platform located behind the Sovereign Centre, which this year promises to be bigger and better than ever!

This Year Extreme Adventure joins the event, bringing with them a combination of adrenaline fuelled activities. The mobile high ropes assault course, nicknamed ‘Mont Blanc’ gives participants the chance to challenge themselves on a platform which towers 4 metres above the ground! Not forgetting the zip wire, giving visitors the chance to soar 130 metres through the air before touching safely back down on Princes Park! This new addition to the 2013 event is not one to miss out on!

Extreme welcomes back Sk8 School and Eastbourne Skating Club this year. The E.S.C was established in 2011 and mainly operate out of the Sovereign Centre in Eastbourne where they run skate disco’s for all to enjoy. Eastbourne Skating club will bring the exciting Slalom competition back to Fishermans Green this year!

The Sk8 School will bring plenty of games, skills tests, competitions and demonstrations to take part in. Along with their 10 experienced instructors, Sk8 School has been teaching Eastbourne to skate since 1995. Visitors can test their skating skills and have some fun!

The fantastic Roller Derby is also back this year! Eastbourne Extreme plays host to the UK’s only FREE outdoor tournament, organised by Eastbourne’s local roller derby league, The Bourne Bombshells. For their second year at Extreme, the Bourne Bombshells will provide two days of hard hitting roller derby action with a day tournament consisting of full contact skating.

Eastbourne Extreme welcomes back the popular music stage held in Princes Park. Eastbourne Borough Council has teamed up with ‘Sound and Motion Magazine’ to put together a weekend of music featuring some of the best acts the region has to offer. Bands include The Vindickers, Loose Lips, 48 Hours, The Broken Chords and Lost in Vegas.

In addition there will be Zorbing, windsurfing, stand up Paddle Boards, VW Campers and taster sessions from Spray water sports!
