Eastbourne’s Western Lawns give way to the Magnificent Motors Festival from May 2-3 in a free classic car extravaganza which celebrates over a century of motoring, with live music entertainment in tow throughout the weekend.
On Sunday (May 3) 650 exhibitors will be showcasing a variety of motors, from classic and vintage cars to military and steam powered vehicles.
From a pre-war 1909 Brush Runabout to a 1928 Bugatti Type 35, one of the most successful racing cars of its time, the annual festival celebrates vintage motoring at its finest, with MGs, American classics, Jaguars, Ferraris and Porsches all on display.
The festival kicks off each day with a seafront cavalcade at 10am from the Eastern seafront to the Western Lawns featuring many of the exhibits, plus live bands, children’s rides and a continental seafront market, which can be found along the seafront from May 1-4.
On Saturday, local acoustic guitarist Jack Turner will open the festival performing a set of originally composed pieces, from jazz to classical to funk. Funk rock band, Rebel Flag, rockabilly and blues act, Sand Rabbit, and acoustic soul and pop band, Resonate, are just a handful of talented musicians which will be proving the soundtrack to the vintage weekend on the lawns.
