Generosity by the bucket-load at Asda

ORGANISERS of the record-breaking Airbourne bucket collection have thanked a local supermarket after it helps swell the fundraising coffers by another £600.

The Herald revealed last week that the four days of donations had netted an impressive £33,000 towards the cost of funding next year’s Airbourne as well as being shared with the local RNLI.

And Margo Giorgi, of Eastbourne Hospitality Association, said Asda had helped push up the total by placing a bucket at the end of each of its check-outs.

He also thanked Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd for donning a red t-shirt and doing his bit jangling buckets across the weekend.
