Sussex Police is offering free property marking at an Eastbourne allotments to deter thefts.
Police Community Support Officer Anita Rockingham and Crime Prevention Officer Trevor Cox, will attend the Gorringe Road allotments on Saturday (November 29) at 11am.
There has recently been a spate of incidents in which allotment sheds and garages in the Upperton and Summerdown areas of Eastbourne have been targeted by thieves.
The property marking on garden tools and other items will help combat theft, according to police.
Anita said, “Please feel free to come along with tools and bikes to help prevent yourself from becoming a victim of crime.
“Marking makes it harder for thieves to pass on stolen property and helps police to identify the rightful owner if it is recovered. We look forward to seeing you there.”
