A former Eastbourne MP has put his Grade II listed house up for sale.
Nigel Waterson’s thatched cottage in Jevington Road, Polegate, is currently on the market for £675,000.
The picturesque building, which dates from at least the 17th Century, is situated close to the scenic South Downs National Park.
Estate agent Rager & Roberts described the house on its website, “The generous accommodation is suffused with character including two fine inglenook fireplaces and a wealth of exposed timbers as well as a handsome oak staircase from the magnificent reception hall.
“The impressive thatched roof has been recently renewed by Master Thatchers South giving the property a unique character as well as the renowned insulation factors of a thatched roof.”
Conservative Mr Waterson was the Member of Parliament for Eastbourne between 1992-2010.
He lost his seat to Liberal Democrat Stephen Lloyd in 2010.
