Eastbourne Town FC (ETFC) handed over a cheque for £500 to charity at the weekend.

The club has chosen to support Demelza Hospice Care for Children as an ETFC officially ‘adopted’ charity.

Demelza Hospice Care for Children is well-known for its work with, and support for, children with life-limiting conditions and their families that are faced with uncertain futures. A cheque for £500 was presented to Julie Brett from Demelza, before ETFC’s game with Faversham Town on Saturday.

Eastbourne Town chairman David Jenkins said, “In keeping with our history and traditions, we are delighted to offer our support to this most worthy Charity. Demelza Hospices offer care for the children and also their immediate families.

“It costs £1,800 for a full day’s care and that would be our first target, one we are on our way to achieving, thanks to the generosity of our fans and supporters and the extended Eastbourne Town family.”
