EASTBOURNE Auction Rooms will appear on television in the new year.
The auction house in Finmere Road will be featured in the popular BBC antiques programme Flog It! on January 9 at 3.45pm.
Presenter Paul Martin and the crew visited Eastbourne to film at the auctioneers’ sale on October 27 and 28.
They sold items which were collected at a valuation day at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill.
The programme is expected to feature a Liberty and Co Art Nouveau Tudric rectangular dish, valued at £200 to £300, a silver matchbox case and three boxes, valued at £150 to £200, a shackleton scale model Foden flatbed lorry, valued at £100 to £150, and a football ephemera including a pair of miniature boots, valued at £180 to £220.
Eastbourne Auction Rooms had online and telephone bidders at the Flog It! auction and there was a record number of online bidders.
Jeannette May, senior valuer at Eastbourne Auction Rooms, said, “It was a really, really buoyant sale and we packed up parcels to send all over the world.”
Bids were coming in from Australia, Canada, China, America and Russia.
