Firefighters kept busy in Eastbourne over weekend


Fire crews had a busy weekend in Eastbourne.

On Saturday morning crews were called to help the ambulance service with a patient at a property in Blackwater Road.

At 10.30am firefighters were called after a six foot wall collapsed in Jay Close, Langney. No one was injured.

Shortly after 1.30pm crews were called out again - this time to an out of control bonfire at a property in Park Close.

At 7.14pm crews were called to a fire in a wheelie bin at Hampden Park Sports Centre in Brodrick Road.

On Sunday afternoon crews attended Pevensey Service Station on the Marsh Road after a car was reported to be overheating on the forecourt

At 9.30pm last night arsonists set fire to bushes behind Hampden Park skate park.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service says it was started deliberately.
