Emergency services were sent to an incident in Princes Park this afternoon.
The fire service’s water rescue team were called to the scene at about 2.20pm.
Crews pulled a woman from the water and handed her into the care of the ambulance service, said East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for SECAmb (South East Coast Ambulance Service) said teams were called following concerns raised for the safety of a woman in the water.
They said the woman was helped to safety and was assessed and treated before being taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital.
