Little Christmas in Little Chelsea will be kicking off the festive season on Friday December 5.
From 5.30pm until 9.30pm, both Grove Road and South Street will host a fabulous evening with shops, cafes, bars and pubs open for business.
This popular event attracts many locals and visitors from further afield and is firmly set in Eastbourne festive calendar.
With partial road closure many of Little Chelsea’s businesses will open their doors throughout the evening and spill out onto the street.
There will be an array of festive stalls offering a host of gift ideas and street food and face painting and hot chestnuts
New for this year is a brand new Santa’s Grotto nestled in the Old Stable Mews of South Street Art Studios.
This charming Victorian mews offers the perfect setting for Santa’s wooden log cabin which has been kindly donated by Beautiful Garden Buildings based at Hillier’s Garden Centre, Stone Cross and built specially for the event by Heritage Garden Buildings.
There will be a hidden winter wonderland for children to explore, where Santa can be found.
The grotto will be opened on the Little Christmas evening on and will also open for each Saturday leading up to Christmas. Little Twister will also be there making balloon creations
Also new for this year The Underground Theatre in Grove Road below the library is throwing open its doors to its very own Indoor Craft Market and Music Event. There will be stalls offering a selection of gifts and treats plus live music from Angelica’s choir, and guitarists Sophie and Mark plus John Ball.
Outside will be entertainment from Hunters Moon Morris Dancers as well as fire eaters, jugglers and stilt walkers
Sovereign Radio will once again be hosting the evening of entertainment on stage by the Eagle Pub.
The New Christmas Lights for Little Chelsea will be turned on at 6pm by Eastbourne’s own Princesses, Anna and Elsa from Disney’s film Frozen.
Also on stage will be a segment of the Hippodromes festive pantomime Christmas Cracker.
There will be live music throughout the evening and Christmas carols to be sung outside the Free Church in South Street.
A fun fair will be placed at the lower end of South Street with a selection of rides.
