Taking place on November 30, the event promises fun for all the family and an opportunity to get your Christmas celebrations off to a flying start.

Meads Street will host a traditional festive street market offering seasonal goodies. The stalls include arts and crafts along with some fabulous culinary delights. The resident shops will be running competitions and special promotions, and late night opening during the event.

Meads Magic will welcome Santa and his elves to the grotto with a procession along the high street at 4.30pm.

Local school choirs will be involved in entertaining the crowds from the event stage with Christmas carols.

Hot food will be available for all the usual local cafes and restaurants but there will be additional popular street food within the festive market on the afternoon and evening of the event.

The pubs will also be getting involved and putting on entertainment for the evening. Taking to the stage at the Ship is Lipsticks and Beatniks.

Meads Magic is pleased to be supporting You Raise Me Up this year and all proceeds from the event will go to the charity.

It is a local charity which helps to support families who have lost a young adult child.

The You Raise Me up charity was founded by the late Jane Brooks and her husband Fraser in June 2011 following the sudden loss of their daughter Megan.

The charity aims too raise funds to support families that have suffered the loss of an adult child between the age of 16 and 25 and to be able to provide compassion and support.

As well as support and counselling, the charity helps families with funeral costs.

Meads Magic is a free event and has been running for seven years.

It has become a family favourite in Eastbourne’s Christmas event calendar.

Meads Magic may be busier this year, after the news that Little Christmas in Little Chelsea will not be going ahead this year.

The popular Grove Road and South Street event has been cancelled for 2018 due to the roadworks in the town centre.
