Hundreds of pounds have been raised for an Eastbourne-based charity at its Christmas fair.
The Eastbourne Area Epilepsy Group (EAEG) team was at St John’s Church Hall in Polegate on Saturday (November 2) where local history books, cakes and knitted goods were all on sale.
There was also a bric-a-brac stall and the fundraiser saw other groups have their own stalls on the day. Debbie Baldwin kindly helped out on the refreshment stand.
Earlier this year the EAEG launched an open day for a youth group and the £288 raised from the raffle on Saturday will go to this section of the charity, with money raised from its other stalls going into the main charity’s coffers.
EAEG chairman Andy Evans said of the day, “The event went well.
“We had a dozen or so stalls and there was quite a steady flow of stalls all morning.
“Tesco and Asda gave raffle prizes and lots of people supported us, everyone was really helpful and did their bit on the day.”
The group held its first youth group event in September which was well received by the community and it now meets on the second Saturday of every month. Its next meeting is on Saturday (November 9). People are welcome to turn up on the day which is held at Community Wise in Old Town between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
The youth events are for children aged seven - 19-years-old in Sussex with the condition and gives them the chance to meet others in a similar situation.
Parents should accompany their children to the sessions.
