Fly-tipping spotted in Eastbourne

A resident saw the fly-tipping on an emergency access road in Eastbourne.

On March 31 Virginia Fano shared the photo on Facebook of fly-tipping on Tutts Barn Lane which included a mattress and bin bags full of rubbish.

She captioned the photo, “This is insane.”

The lane is actually an emergency access road for Network Rail so if blocked it could cause serious problems.

In response to the photo, a statement from Eastbourne Borough Council said, “We take fly-tipping extremely seriously and investigate every case reported. With this particular case, evidence has been found and we are following a number of leads to bring the culprits to justice.”

Fly-tipping can be reported on the council website or through the Report It app. Please include photographs with reports wherever possible.
