Emergency services called to The Beacon in Eastbourne

Emergency services have been called to an incident at The Beacon this afternoon (September 23).

Ambulances and police rushed to the scene outside the shopping centre in Terminus Road after reports of a medical incident at about 1.25pm.

Witnesses said a defibrillator was used to perform first aid.

One passerby said, “First Aid was provided by two amazing A&E nurses who were off duty.”

Sussex Police said a woman has been taken to hospital.

According to reports, part of the pavement by HSBC was closed for some time afterwards, with police standing nearby.

The ambulance service has been contacted for further information.
