Members of Eastbourne Stagers held a bag packing session at an Eastbourne supermarket last weekend to raise cash to help put on a show later this year.

They spent four hours helping customers at Tesco in Hampden Park and raised more than £400 to stage Bring It On: The Musical.

The money will go towards staging the musical at the Devonshire Park Theatre from Wednesday September 21 to Saturday September 24.

Performances are nightly at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Bring It On: The Musical is a stage show loosely based on the 2000 film of the same name and focuses on the competitive world of cheerleading and over-the-top team rivalries.

Members of Eastbourne Stagers have been rehearsing for the show regularly since their previous performances of Dick Whittington finished in March. The director is Fiona Dean and choreographer is Chloe Hurst.

Tickets can be booked for the show at www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk
