Police say a suspended sentence of 18 months for previous offences was activated and Deniro was told that a five-month term for burglary and a further month would be imposed for five counts of theft, three of assaulting police and one of threatening behaviour, would be added – making 24 months in all.

She had been convicted at a hearing before Sussex (Eastern) Magistrates on Tuesday November 13 and committed for sentence at Crown Court, said Sussex Police.
