Young twins have hosted a fundraiser at their home in Polgate to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
Jessica and Elsie Rooney were both born with club feet and have received treatment from the NHS. However, the kindhearted youngsters realise not all children are as lucky as them and they decided to raise money for CURE International UK.
They chose this charity as it provides treatment for clubfoot, bowed legs, cleft lips and untreated burns in poorer countries.
Proud mum Sarah Rooney said, “They both wanted to help those less fortunate than themselves.”
Elsie and Jessica held the fundraiser at their house on November the 18.
The girls invited friends and family to the coffee morning and craft sale.
Sarah said she was overwhelmed with the support her two daughters had received.
She said, “There was an incredible amount of support and the have raised £667.33 so far with donations still coming in.
“We were all overwhelmed and so grateful to everyone who came along or showed their support with donations of money and cakes.”
CURE says 90 per cent of children with clubfoot are born in areas where treatment options are limited.
The charity works to help youngsters get the treatment they need. Visit uk.cure.org for more information.
