EASTBOURNE seafront and Beachy Head will play a major part in the forthcoming remake of Graham Greene’s Brighton Rock.

The movie is expected to be released early next year and features a number of scenes filmed in Eastbourne last year.

Road signs were removed and road closures were made in attempt to transform Eastbourne into 1960s Brighton.

During one day of filming the seafront was completely closed to traffic to make way for 100 period Lambretta scooters, a now being used to promote the film in the run up to its UK release in February.

Councillor Neil Stanley, Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, said, “We were very excited to have so much filming take place here and it’s down to having such an immaculate and traditional seafront that film-makers choose Eastbourne as their base.”
