A coffee outlet with a difference has finally opened its doors to the public.
Red Box Coffee, just outside Eastbourne Pier, features an iconic telephone kiosk.
It has been converted and fitted out with a hot dog machine, ice cream machine and tea and coffee facilities.
People can also watch staff spin candy floss for them, which is something of a rarity these days.
Gary Crowhurst, owner of Red Box Coffee, and Hayley Crowhurst, manager, said, “We are very proud to keep such a great British icon rather than them being demolished, abandoned orvandalised and used as toilets. We also have another location which is situated in New Road, Brighton.
The telephone kiosks are rented from a company called Red Box which works along side the charity ‘Thinking Outside the Box.’ A percentage of the business’s rent is given to the charity which helps break the cycle of homelessness and gets people back to work. “We will look forward to seeing everyone and thank you for the support we have received,” the couple added.
