Eastbourne store robbed by masked man at knifepoint

Police are appealing for witnesses after a masked man robbed an Eastbourne store at knifepoint last week.

Police say that at around 9.15pm on Tuesday, May 3 a shop assistant at The Larder Store in Seaside was confronted by a masked man him with a knife, who demanded he hand over money from the till.

The shop assistant, who was shaken but otherwise unhurt, placed around £150 on the counter which the robber picked up before running away in the direction of Firle Road.

Police say the suspect is slim, thought to be in his 20s and between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a woollen mask, a black hooded fleece jacket, black gloves and possibly jeans.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to email police at [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 1557 of 03/05.
