“While this is not a confirmed case of the illness, Rexel and our staff in the locality are strictly following the relevant NHS and government advice as a precaution and the Eastbourne branch is temporarily closed.”

A sign in the doorway says due to ‘unforeseen operational and health and safety reasons’ the store will be closed temporarily.

This comes after pods have been set up at Eastbourne DGH for people to be assessed for coronavirus.

In nearby Brighton, a number of people have tested positive for the virus and are being treated in specialist hospitals.
