People are being told to seek alternative health services after the centre closed today (Tuesday) due to heavy rain at the weekend.

• If you are a registered patient at Eastbourne Station Health Centre you will now be seen at Grove Road Surgery, in 59-63 Grove Rd, Eastbourne BN21 4TX.

• If you already have a GP appointment booked at Eastbourne Station Health Centre you will now need to attend Grove Road Surgery.

• If you are a registered patient and need to book a GP appointment, you can call Grove Road Surgery on 07889 169415. The surgery’s website has more information on opening times, available here.

• Walk-in services are currently unavailable.

A spokesperson for NHS Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford CCG said, “While we work to put a temporary solution in place, people worried about an urgent medical concern are advised to call 111.

“Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or even a GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one.

“NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary. The NHS 111 service is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a team of fully trained advisers.”

The CCG says it is working closely with Eastbourne Station Health Centre staff to ensure any required repair work is finished quickly so that services can return to normal as soon as possible.

The spokesperson added, “We’d like to thank local people and patients for their understanding during this time and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will provide regular updates on progress as soon as they are available.”
