Eastbourne singer could return to the limelight
An Eastbourne singer could be set for a return to the limelight as a record producer releases a set of her original recordings from the 1960s.
Patsy Fuller, an actress and singer, appeared on television during the 60s and 70s in both the police drama series Z Cars and in Coronation Street.
During this time she recorded a number of tracks with the record producer David Nicholson – including several which have never been heard by the wider public.
David, who plans to release the tracks later this year, now wants to track down Patsy to share the news.
He said, “Patsy’s parents and she lived in Eastbourne back then. Patsy moved to London around 1964 to become a successful actress, eventually starring as Sandra Butler in Coronation Street. I met her in 1965 and recorded several masters with her.
“In those days many actors made ‘pop’ records of dubious quality. Patsy’s recordings were superb, but, to protect her reputation as an actress, I decided to release only two in the USA.”
David plans to release four tracks by the actress including covers of Angel of the Morning and Lady Blue, later this year.
Two other tracks by Patsy, I Don’t Wanna Love You and Just One Answer, are available on itunes now.
David said, “Having now found the master tapes of these four tracks, I will release them worldwide later this year.
“I’d love to contact Patsy, or anyone connected with her.”
