An Eastbourne school is appealing for residents to vote for it online to give it the best chance at winning community cash.

The Friends of West Rise Infants put West Rise Community Infant school forward to be a Community Champion with the Magnet Trade Campaign.

The school was accepted and voting is now open. Voting is online and the deadline is Tuesday March 31.

The prize of £10,000 will be split regionally between the ten most voted for causes, there are 169 causes in total and an additional £1,000 will be awarded to the public’s overall national favourite.

Cindy Cavie, Co-chair of the Friends of West Rise Infants, said, “If we are lucky enough to get the prize we will use the money to enhance our forest school learning, which lots of the children have already started to access and experience. Additional funding would enable many more to enjoy getting outdoors making grass caterpillars and mud pies.

“We would really love to get Eastbourne behind us and vote for our amazing school. Please share the details of this campaign with your friends and family and get everyone voting.”
