The hotelier wants to convert his former Lions Cub Nursery in Beach Road into flats.

At a meeting of Eastbourne council last night (Tuesday) planners gave the green light to the plan which will see the nursery and former pub on the seafront converted into eight flats.

There will be five one bedroom flats and three two bed apartments.

A council spokesperson said, “The proposed development would utilise a vacant building for the provision of residential units for which there is an identified need.”
